Abstract | Pamphlet publication of Townshend's letter of renunciation of the Anglican Church and proclamation of Bahá'u'lláh. |
Notes | In 1947, at the age of 70, Townshend renounced his orders to the Anglican Church and wrote a pamphlet to all Christians under the title "The Old Churches and the New World Faith" that was sent out to 10,000 so-called "responsible people" in the British Isles on the occasion of this resignation. (Bahá'í World, Vol. XIII, p. 841) The PDF below is generated from an updated Microsoft Word document, prepared by Mike Thomas (2022; transcription errors corrected, quotes properly spaced, translations updated, footnotes added to quotes, and bibliography added).
