Abstract Winckler's parents were Bahá'ís; she met 'Abdu'l-Bahá during his visit to America when He visited her mother in 1912, and was bestowed the name Bahiyyih when she went on pilgrimage in 1919 at age twelve.

First published by the US Bahá'í Publishing Trust in 1941, then as A Pilgrimage to Haifa, November 1919 (Memories of a Young Girl of 12 Years Old) in 1995, then republished as an expanded 104-page book with photographs in 1996.
