Este relato histórico y personal explica las razones por las cuales la autora se encontraba en este país y las consecuencias de haber decidido quedarse antes, durante y después de la época de la revolución. Al mismo tiempo, es una historia de la Fe Bahá’í en Nicaragua desde 1939, cuando Mathew Kaszab llegó como el primer pionero.

In 1979 the author found herself in the middle of an enormous event in Nicaragua; a civil war and a complete change of government.
This historical and personal chronicle explains the reasons why the author was in this country and the consequences of deciding to stay before, during and after the revolution. At the same time, it is a history of the Baha’i Faith in Nicaragua since the arrival in 1939 of Mathew Kaszab, the first pioneer.
Members of the Baha’i Faith strive to serve humanity, and it is with the Nicaraguan Baha’i community that the author identified for nearly a decade.
It is hoped that upon reading this story, the reader is encouraged to find out more about this world Faith, and about a community that works hand in hand with others of good will in continents, countries, territories, cities and thousands of villages all over the world, with the goal of helping build a society of equality, progress and peace.
This narrative is approved by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Nicaragua, 2015.
La autora
Anne King Sadeghpour vivió en Nicaragua desde 1976 hasta 1983, y también desde 1989 hasta 1990. Ella y su esposo Saeed tienen cinco hijos adultos, tres de los cuales nacieron en Nicaragua. Es profesora y bibliotecaria certificada bilingüe jubilada y miembro de la comunidad mundial Bahá’í desde 1971.
About the author
Anne King Sadeghpour lived in Nicaragua from 1976-1983, and again 1989-1990. She and her husband Saeed have five adult children, three born in Nicaragua. She is a retired certificated bilingual teacher-librarian and member of the worldwide Baha’i community since 1971.
