Photo brochure of the Bahá'í Temple in Wilmette
Wilmette, IL: Bahá'í Publishing Trust, 1965
About: This color booklet of photographs of the Bahá'í temple would have been for sale at the House of Worship. Note on the last page a line that says "Curteichcolor 3-D Natural Color Reproduction," which means the NSA probably hired a good professional photographer. Some of these images were also sold as individual postcards. The photos may have been taken in 1964. Looking at the cover image, note that there's no railing around the patio over the gardens, but on the inside the photos do show the railing. Note, too, the old Hazirah at 539 Sheridan and the old garage. I think one can also see the greenhouse behind 110 and 112 Linden. This booklet was in the format of 8" x 11" pages folded in half, making a booklet measuring 8' x 5 1/2". The images inside are the old-fashioned postcard size, 3 1/2" x 5/12". The pages are not numbered;counting the covers it is 24 pages, or 12 sheets of paper folded once. The front cover (the dome of the House of Worship) and the back cover (the aerial view) are both in the first image, below. [-C.M.H.]
