Mrs. Louie Mathews, Chairman of the National Amity Committee, received these
words from the Guardian, through his secretary:
"The entertainment given in honor of the N.S.A.C.P. . . . made a dignified
effect, interesting and beneficial to the cause of unity between the races. It is
hoped that your example will be followed and that in the future meetings of this
sort will increase both in number and effectiveness."
