1945-04-05 Prolonged absence of Assembly member

He [Shoghi Effendi] does not intervene in purely local administrative matters, and

it is for the Assembly to decide, if the absence of a member is prolonged, when

they should hold an election to replace that person. The principle is that the 9

members of the Spiritual Assembly should be reasonably available for meetings. If

their absence from town is prolonged, someone else must fill the vacancy.

[Letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi, dated April 5, 1945, to an individual believer

cited inGLSA-DDBC]
