Tablette de la Médecine (Lawh-i-Tibb)

by Bahá'u'lláh

translated by Pierre Daoust
2019
date of original: 1870(?)
This document contains three parts:
  1. A letter from the Universal House of Justice, where they quote Shoghi Effendi saying that to correctly translate the Tablet one should have a deep knowledge of ancient medicine and they state that up to now no official English translation has been made, but they give references to diverse passages published first in:
    • Star of the West, vol. XIII, no. 9 (December 1922) p.252
    • Herald of the South, vol. 2, no. 4 (October-November 1927), p.1
    • "Bahá'u'lláh's Tablet of Medicine: Introduction, Provisional Translation and Notes," in Bahá'í Studies Bulletin 6:4-7:2 (October 1992), pp. 18-65) by Stephen Lambden (bahai-library.com/uhj_tablet_physician_1989)
  2. The notes of Stephen Lambden, which are a kind of summary of the Tablet (irfancolloquia.org/22/lambden_tibb).
  3. A revised translation of the provisional English translation of Stephen Lambden, dated May 9th 2015 (see one paragraph in red in my french translation) which is stated to be still under revision (hurqalya.ucmerced.edu/node/311).
