Notes	Developed from a paper first presented at Irfan Colloquia, 2002. Later posted at hurqalya.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk. Later published in A Most Noble Pattern: Collected Essays on the Writings of the Báb. This is an early, unedited draft of the article and is not identical to the version later published in A Most Noble Pattern.
